[edit] Introduction
Wiki isn't all about text. You can spice up articles by adding relevant images. In fact, you are encouraged to do this!
[edit] Instructions
First, upload the image via upload interface. Once the image is uploaded, you will be presented with a wiki code to insert into an article. It's of the form [[Image:Imagename.jpg]]. Typically, just using this code in an article will add a thumbnail image to it. If you want to specify the size of the image or add a caption, see below for full reference.
Tip: You can also browse the list of existing images and look for an already existing picture.
[edit] Image Policy
- Naturally, nothing explicit is allowed. All images must be relevant to the subject of this wiki.
- We love screenshots. You are encouraged to upload personal screenshots and add them to your User page. We would request, however, that you take the time to add your screenshot to the appropriate screenshot gallery and link to the Image: page instead of the image itself.
- For screenshot images please name your image during upload according to the following format: {PROG}-{USER}.{num}.jpg, where {PROG} is your program, Window Manager or Desktop Environment that you have taken a screenshot of, {USER} is your username on this wiki, {num} is just a number to distinguish between screenshots (if you have uploaded more than one), you may also substitute a date e.g. 2008-08
